Description
Mukhwas is a colorful South Asian Ayurvedic after-meal snack or digestive aid widely used as a breath freshener, especially after meals. As per Agamas, Mukhwas forms one of the components of sixteen upcharas (offerings) to a deity in a Puja, the Hindu mode of worship or prayer. One of the primary benefits of Mukhwas lies in its digestive properties. The mixture usually includes seeds like fennel, anise, carom, and coriander, which have carminative and anti-flatulent properties. These seeds help in reducing bloating, indigestion, and gas, making it an ideal remedy for post-meal discomfort.
